Stepping away from NLOTH for a moment or two, the @U2 blog
last week ran a fine feature on how to prepare for the allegedly-coming-soon U2 pilgrimage album
Songs of Ascent by digging into some background on the topic. After a funny "Breathe" joke, Scott Calhoun suggests the following: Listening to Coltrane, "going Sufi," and considering the Biblical
songs of ascent (including, perhaps,
a commentary on them by Eugene Peterson which turns out to have some interesting connections).
