The manuscript of "The Wanderer," which all four members of U2 signed and gave to Johnny Cash after he recorded the vocal for Zooropa, has been put up for auction. It's three pages, and most of the lyrics are as they stand on the album, but there were a couple of verses that were cut, which you can see here. I'm intrigued by the presence of imagery that's reminiscent of "Where the Streets Have No Name":
I went out walking to places not yet named
Where people dreamed instead of schemed
And no one was ashamed.
And then there's a sort of "conviction" verse too. Check it out.
