It was nice to hear that Christ Church United Church of Christ (yes, that's the correct name) in Elizabethtown PA, USA is offering the Bible study series in the back of Get Up Off Your Knees on Sunday evenings through Oct 29. Journal of Lutheran Ethics

The Journal of Lutheran Ethics' September issue is on media culture, and it features two excerpts from Get Up Off Your Knees: the essay "Woo me, sister; move me, brother! What does Pop Culture Have to Do with Preaching?" by Raewynne, and three weeks' worth of my six-week Bible study in dialogue with U2 themes. Both are in PDF format.

Pursuing God with U2 - U2 and faith

Just wanted to let anyone who might be located near New Bedford-Fall River MA that I'll be doing four sessions based on the U2 and spirituality study found in "Get Up Off Your Knees" at my church beginning next week. Stealing a page from the event Eugene Peterson was involved with and writes about in our foreword, we're calling it "Jesus and Bono: Pursuing God with U2." Each session stands on its own and will span four Wednesdays (Apr 21-May 12), meeting beginning at 7 PM. Any questions, just email me.

Study group in Ohio

Kurt Wiesner of Cleveland writes in with two bits of news: first, a reminder that this coming weekend marks the end of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's U2 exhibit, which has already been extended twice. There will be a fan gathering; more info here. I had a chance to go to the exhibit several months ago and it is really an amazing experience.

For anyone in the Cleveland area, Kurt will be leading the "Pursuing God with U2" Bible study from Get Up Off Your Knees at Trinity Cathedral beginning next week.
